LATEST WORK

I was honored to be a part of the HMVC Online Gallery Exhibition, "Within One Color" for the month of June, 2026. This piece was created especially for this exhibition, choosing a color and only using the shades, hues, and tones of it for an original artwork. The work, entitled "Sorry We Can't Help You", resonates deeply with me as I witness the struggles by so many humans from all walks of life, all who represent a little of each of us.  This piece serves as an observation of those who simply cannot access the help they need to thrive, to move forward, or to function while they remain among  those who seem to keep moving forward. Those that are connected to what they need to power on do just that, while those in need of support are right there, often overlooked and unserved.

I designed and hand-built this piece, with each gear finished to be completely unique. The gears are mounted onto birch wood using metal hardware; when the gear is turned at the green arrow, the entire system moves together in harmony behind the peace sign.

The piece combines my fascination with mechanical elements with a modern take on the hope for the best in humanity to come together, however different we may be.

This whimsical piece was created using leftover acrylic from my other work, “It Starts With Just One.” Instead of letting those outer shapes go to waste, I saw the potential for something new. Made with acrylic, glass eyes, and metal hardware, the piece is designed to be picked up, turned, and even gently shaken so the inner gears shift and reposition the eyes.
